USAC’s Study Abroad Wrapped 2023 Contest

Embark on a journey down memory lane! Create your Study Abroad Wrapped by sharing your favorite photos and videos from your USAC program. Win up to $200!

How to win

Submit up to 5 photos/videos in each category (25 photos total) by December 15, 2023.

  • Romantic: Showcase how you personalized your study abroad journey, whether it’s embracing your unique fashion, learning how to bake local treats, or joining a local sports team. How did studying abroad make you more, you?
  • Intellectual: Share the distinctive aspects of your abroad classroom experience—field trips, overnight excursions, engaging class activities, cooking classes, language sessions, internships, and involvement in various organizations.
  • Family: Capture the moments with your host family, flat mates, local and international friends that defined your study abroad experience.
  • Adventurer: Share the awe-inspiring landscapes that left you breathless.
  • Instagrammer (Video Category): Unleash your creativity in video format by showcasing your best TikToks/Reels that reflect your personality and experiences abroad.

Contest prizes

One winner will be chosen from each category, and their submissions will be showcased on social media. The overall winner will receive the grand prize, while the remaining four semi-finalists will be awarded the semi-final prize.

  • Semi-finalist prize: $50 Gift Card
  • Finalist prize: $200 Gift Card

Submission deadline: December 15, 2023

Once all photos are submitted, the top submissions will be announced by USAC Study Abroad Wrapped Photo Contest Committee. Semifinalists’ submissions will be feature on social media December 19-20 for voting. The photo/video with the most likes will receive the grand prize, and the semi-finalists will receive the semi-finalist prize.


Contest Terms and Conditions

This photo contest is open to all students and alumni who have participated in a USAC study abroad program. Photographs from any year may be submitted.

Visit the photo contest form to submit your photos. Photos may also be submitted via email to contests@usac.edu by December 15.

Participants must adhere to the following submission requirements for consideration:

  • Please name each file with a brief description of the photo, followed by the locations and your last name, first initial in parenthesis [i.e. Volunteering_Alicante (SmithJ)]
  • Please include a brief description of each photo (where you are, what you are doing, who you are with, etc.) When adding your description, please list the file name first, followed by the description [i.e. Volunteering_ Alicante (SmithJ): Myself and my classmate, Jane Doe, volunteering at a local school in Alicante, Spain during our Fall 2023 semester abroad.]
  • Ensure all submitted photos are their original file size. (If submitting via email, it is okay to send multiple emails until you reach your full 25 submissions.)
  • Resolution and Format: We prefer high-quality photos (min 300 dpi) and submitted electronically in JPEG, TIFF, PNG, HEIC, or RAW format.
  • Limits on Submission: Participants can submit up to 5 photographs per category, allowing a maximum of 25 photographs across all categories. Participants are welcome to enter multiple categories, but each entrant can secure victory in only one category.
  • Photos containing alcohol, illegal or dangerous behavior, behavior in conflict with the insurance contract, or anything that may be deemed as inappropriate, will be disqualified.
  • Original Work: Submitted photographs must be original material taken by the contest entrant. By entering this contest, participants acknowledge that the submitted photo(s) is/are original works created solely by the entrant and that no other party has any claim to the submitted photography. Photos previously submitted to USAC as part of another contest are not eligible for resubmission under this competition.
  • Copyright and Usage: Photographers retain the copyright to their photographs. By entering the contest, photographers agree that
    • Entries (including non-winning entries) may be edited and/or selected for display or use on USAC web pages and promotional materials, without fee, compensation, or acknowledgement.
    • USAC may display winning photos on their website.
    • USAC may retain copies of the photograph for archival and promotional purposes.
  • USAC Employees and Interns: Employees and interns can enter the contest, however, no photos previously submitted to USAC can be submitted to this contest.
