Staff and leadership gathered to commemorate 20 years of USAC Viterbo, Italy.
University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) Viterbo program celebrated its 20th anniversary on April 21. Founded in 2006, the program has seen more than 4,000 students pass through its doors and represents the shared collaboration of many partners — from the University of Tuscia where the program is located, to USAC headquartered in Reno, Nevada, U.S., to the city of Viterbo itself.
According to a TusciaUP news release, USAC Resident Director Francesca Del Guidice shared her thoughts on the anniversary and expressed her gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the success of the program over the last 20 years. “[The University of Tuscia and the city of Viterbo] have guaranteed a welcoming and stimulating environment, as well as that of the teachers, whose commitment has deeply enriched the academic and personal path of the students. The contribution of the program coordinator and the importance of the relationship with the local community are also recognized, also through internships and collaborations.”

Students who study abroad in Viterbo, Italy, can truly immerse in Italian culture due to the city’s small size. Whether they choose a short summer session or a full year in Italy, their classes cover a range of Italian language courses, history, arts, and culture studies while providing the unique opportunity to live in a stunning medieval location surrounded by a supportive local community.
The anniversary celebration was commemorated at the University of Tuscia in the Aula Magna campus auditorium, with professors, Viterbo representatives, USAC staff, and USAC students in attendance, including USAC Viterbo program coordinator Luisa Quatrini and municipal councilor Patrizia Notaristefano.
