Turin, home of the University of Torino and host location of the University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) Torino study abroad program, has been named the 67th best city in the world for students. According to UniTO News, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the largest international higher education network, recognized the city for the first time on the eleventh edition of the QS Best Student Cities ranking.
As the only new Italian entry on the list, Turin is being lauded as the most convenient university city in the nation and 66th in the world. The cost of living in the area is lower than other Italian cities. This affordable program location allows students to seek all the recreational activities and social events that make up a great student experience.
Individual surveys by QS also showed that students themselves scored Turin 73.9 out of 100 points. The results placed the city 65th in the world for Student Voice rankings.
“I miss my time spent in Turin so much. I am so glad that I took the opportunity to travel and live in Italy. USAC provided an organized and supportive community that quickly made me feel at home. I went on to become an English teacher and currently pursuing instructional design as well. My experience in Italy, within the USAC program, taught me that passion is what makes a life worth living.” – Laura H.
Recognizing Turin on the QS rankings validates its position as a desirable location with a high demand to hire new graduates. USAC students may take classes in international business and management at the highly respected AA – School of Management. The University of Torino also offers courses in Italian studies, intercultural communication, international affairs, politics, visual arts, and architecture.
