Ahoj Readers!
How many of you would love to experience the Olympics firsthand?
We know the world’s attention is turned to Sochi, Russia for the Olympic Games, but the Czech Republic has found a fun and unique way to bring the Olympics to life in Prague.
The Czech Olympic Committee set up “Olympic Park Sochi—Letná 2014” in an effort to celebrate the Games and promote living a healthy lifestyle. They transformed Prague’s Letná Park into the city’s very own Olympic Park, with facilities for ice skating, cross-country skiing, hockey, curling, bobsleigh, biathlon laser shooting, and more open to the public. Locals can even cheer on their 88 athletes while watching live TV coverage from Sochi. If you’d like to Czech it out for yourselves, here is the full listing of events and activities happening (there’s even a live feed you can watch to see the activities!).
While the Olympic Park will only be set up through the Games, Letná Park is also a popular destination for USAC students enjoying good weather and looking to play soccer or Frisbee, so definitely keep it on your radar.
