‘Tis the season for some giving! Whether you’re a USAC alum looking for an opportunity to give back to your study abroad organization or just someone who sees the value in making international education as accessible as possible, you’ve come to the right place.
After Covid-19 brought international education to a hard stop last year, things are looking bright as studying abroad starts to open back up for students. We saw more and more programs open in 2021, and we’re excited for an even busier 2022, but we need your help to make this season of global giving even more impactful for students in need.
This year we have two easy ways to support international education: AmazonSmile and #GivingTuesday.
And the best part? USAC has secured matching funds, which means for every dollar you donate, an additional dollar will be put toward student scholarships – up to $10,000!
The match essentially Doubles Your Donation, ensuring your gift goes even further this holiday season. What does this look like?
- Your $5 = $10 in student scholarships
- Your $50 = $100 in student scholarships
- Your $500 = $1,000 in student scholarships
Keep reading to learn how you can participate in these initiatives to directly support USAC student scholarships to make study abroad more accessible for all students.

#GivingTuesday
This year, we need each other more than ever. Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world. We believe there is no better way to invest in a global day of giving than to give the gift of global education. Especially, when your generous holiday donation will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, further supporting students in-need. But we can’t unlock the matching funds without your support.
If you’ve ever had the opportunity to study or travel abroad, and personally know the deep impact it has on creating empathy, global understanding and cultural awareness, we encourage you to donate to USAC’s Students Beyond Borders Fund this holiday season.

It’s that easy! Every dollar you donate – whether it’s $100, $50, or $25 – AND, every time you shop on Amazon (at no additional cost to you), your support will be doubled, and go directly to USAC student scholarships to further international education.
And remember, USAC awards scholarships and discounts annually to assist students with their study abroad expenses. We offer scholarships for every program and a wide variety of student-specific and unique scholarships such as first generation, military service, STEM students, and our new Access, Equity and Inclusion scholarship. We believe study abroad experiences should be attainable by ALL students.
Because of my scholarship, I will carry on the generosity of helping others succeed in their education… Thank you so much for contributing to my education and giving me hope to do better in life. One day, I envision myself in a position where I could help others realize the dream of studying abroad as you have done for me.” – Yaxing L., Scholarship Recipient, Shanghai, China
For many students, the opportunity to study abroad would not be possible without additional financial support. From alleviating stress abroad to helping students achieve their dreams and further their academic goals, scholarships provide lasting impact.
My future educational goals include completing both bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the top of my class. Professionally, I see myself living and working abroad as a microbiologist in rural communities. Studying abroad is crucial to achieving my goals, as it will increase my knowledge of different cultures and give me the experience necessary to live and travel around the world… Thank you so much for the generous scholarship. It has helped me greatly in my endeavor to study abroad in Israel.” – James P., Scholarship Recipient, Haifa, Israel
