Boeing Italy President and Boeing International Vice President, Antonio De Palmas, was a guest speaker for the USAC Torino program this month.
Mr De Palmas spoke to a group of over 50 USAC students, faculty, and guests about the general aviation marketplace, the future of aviation, biofuel options, environmental factors, and more with many examples from his experience in different roles within Boeing, including President of European and NATO relations and Director of Communications as well as his years as EU and Government Affairs Manager for Oracle and his experience negotiating with the EU Commission and Parliament in Brussels. Mr. De Palmas commented he enjoyed visiting and was impressed with the USAC Torino program and host university, and the intelligent, engaging questions the students asked. He urged students to follow their passions for their career and personal choices, but also not to worry if they cannot identify their passion right now early in their life — but instead to try their hand at many things in order to always be learning, challenging themselves, and in order to discover what they may be good at or enjoy, and then passion will follow. He looks forward to returning again in the future to collaborate again with USAC.
Other guests in Torino this semester have included designers, entrepreneurs, two speakers from FIAT-Chrysler leadership development as well as representatives from the Torino offices for eBay.
