Alexandria Redd, a junior at the College of Charleston and a University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) student, was awarded a Diverse International Women of Color (DIWC) scholarship for the Spring 2026 term. She is double-majoring in economics and international studies and is attending the USAC Santiago program in Chile.
In total, Alexandria received $1,000 in scholarship funds to help with her study abroad program cost.
Founded by Alhia D. Harris, DIWC was inspired by her own 2012 study abroad experience in Hong Kong. DIWC’s mission is to create opportunities for more women of color to experience the life-changing impact of global education, empowering them to broaden their horizons, build cross-cultural connections, and grow into confident, world-ready leaders.
DIWC is among USAC’s valued partners committed to increasing access to study abroad opportunities for students from historically underrepresented backgrounds. USAC was the first study abroad organization to partner with DIWC at its founding in 2018 and continues to support students by matching DIWC scholarships to help fund their study abroad experiences.
