USAC Reading host institution named Sustainable University of the Year 2025
The Times and The Sunday Times, the oldest national daily newspaper in the U.K., awarded The University of Reading the title of Sustainable University of the Year 2025. The accolade recognizes the host institution of the University Studies Abroad Consortium’s (USAC) Reading program as one of the world’s leading universities for the study of climate change.
The University of Reading now ranks in the top 25 of all U.K. universities on The Good University Guide 2025. It is 10 places higher on the guide than in previous years, according to a release from the institution.
The high-performing institution is often chosen by American undergraduate students looking to study abroad in England for its impressive Global Impact rankings and beautiful 300-acre parkland areas.
“It is excellent to be recognized as Sustainable University of the Year, which reflects the incredible hard work of our students, colleagues and partners who together have a shared commitment to securing a better global future,” Professor Robert Van de Noort, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Reading, said.
In its methodology, the newspaper uses data about entry standards, student-staff ratios, continuation rates, first-class and 2:1 degrees, and graduate prospects gathered by Higher Education Statistics Agency.
