Lyon ranks as top choice 2024 ranks USAC Lyon as a top study abroad program in France

With an impressive 9.2 overall rating, the University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) Lyon program ranks as the third best study abroad program, according to Go Abroad. The international education and experiential travel resource published the results of their analysis in 7 Best Study Abroad Programs in France in 2024. Go Abroad uses student reviews to calculate the rankings in their methodology.

A French Language & European Studies semester and yearlong program offers an intensive language approach at L’Université Catholique de Lyon (Lyon Catholic University). Students can take up to nine credits of French in one semester. Student can also enroll in courses with French students, taught in either English or French.

Electives in culture, political science, cinema, economics, or literature are available, depending on your language level. The range of options make the program ideal for students studying political science or public relations. On a field trip in Lyon, University of Nebraska-Lincoln student Emma Dostal was able to visit the Regional Building in Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes. She also visited the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, which is just a brief 2-hour trip from Lyon. Her time overseas helped her discover her passion to defending human rights. After all, France is one of the founding members of the United Nations and European Union.

Lyon is one of two options in France. Eight weeks of USAC’s intensive language course through the USAC Pau program is also equal to a full year of French.
