Tommylee Spurger, a student at University of Nevada, Reno, has been awarded the London Metropolitan University Study Abroad Diversity Scholarship. The funding will be used for his study abroad program through University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) in Fall 2024.
The London Metropolitan University created the diversity scholarship and provides £1,000 (approximately $1,250) to help underrepresented backgrounds overcome barriers that prevent them from pursuing an international education. Generous scholarships like these help students reduce the tuition toward their degree.
Tommy is looking forward to the USAC London program for many reasons.
“I’m super excited to see the history that London has to offer,” Tommylee said. “Through the architecture and many other things, London is filled with a lot of stories and I can’t wait to see them firsthand.”
