If you’ve ever seen photos from students who have studied abroad in Cork, Ireland, chances are one of them was the Ring of Kerry.
This 111-mile road takes you through 10,000 years of Irish history. According to theRingOfKerry.com, “It’s a road that takes you from deep forest to the crashing waters of the wild Atlantic. It’s a road through rugged, majestic landscapes: where wild stag roam and where tumbling waterfalls crash into crystal streams teeming with wild salmon. It’s a road that shows you the real meaning of a holiday in Kerry, Ireland.”
The best thing about the Ring of Kerry is that USAC will take you there on our optional tour that is only offered during the summer.
This four-day optional tour takes place in the beginning of summer before classes begin. Talk about a great way to kick off your summer abroad!
Upon arrival in Dublin, you’ll have a walking tour and night in the city. The following day you’ll embark to experience the incredible landscape and scenery of the Ring of Kerry and visit some of the most famous archaeological and historical sites in Ireland, including Limerick, Skellig Ring, Valentia Island, Muckross Gardens, and Killarney National Park. Participate in Irish dancing, meet local guest speakers, try Gaelic football, learn basic Irish phrases and an Irish song or two, and enjoy good food and fun. USAC encourages every student to participate in this tour; however, it is optional and has an additional fee. You will sign up for the tour on your Course and Tour Registration Form; the deadline to sign up is May 1.
