Florianópolis, Brazil represents much of what makes Brazil life and culture so great. We could go on and on but rather than that, let’s just show you!
This fresh batch of photos just came in from our Brazil, Resident Director showcasing the awe and beauty of what Florianópolis and the surrounding areas have to offer.
Last week we organized a discussion on the current political situation in Brazil, with our politics and econ professors, which was a USAC- hosted event in our host university. A large number of both USAC and local students attended, and we heard a very illuminating and well-argued debate on the impeachment process. That’s the first photo.
A popular conversation exchange event in our office
Our boat trip to the south of the island and Ribeirão da Ilha

The last photo shows one of our students, Ren Main, attending a host university class, Cross-cultural Communication, along with other international and Brazilian students.
On Sunday we did a joint stand-up paddleboard and hiking event, which was very popular. Photos can be viewed here[onedrive.live.com]. 17 students accompanied by Mariele did the gorgeous 4 mile trip to the lakeside village of Costa da Lagoa, half by paddleboard and half hiking.
Thanks for the interest in Brazil. The students have been really enjoying a long and hot summer and getting involved in many different academic, extra-curricular and outdoors activities.
We love seeing our students on field trips to experience the local culture how locals do. Apply today to study abroad in Florianópolis, Brazil!
