Our students studying abroad have many opportunities to explore beyond what they learn in the classroom and textbooks by getting to see what they’ve learned in-person and in-context, by visiting historical and cultural landmarks, working closely with the local people through service learning or volunteering — all to provide a well-rounded and amazing life-learning experience unlike anywhere else.

Banaglore, India, is home to a rich culture with a deep history. It’s also a prime location for easy travel to the rest of southern India of which lie many temples, palaces, beaches, and other local settings just waiting for you to discover. This trip in particular was taken by those in the Buddhism and Hinduism class.
From our folks in Bangalore:
“We had a wonderful trip and the students seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed themselves correlating the class curriculum to in-person study.” — Githa Ub
Here we have a few photos shot on location from one of the many field trip / cultural immersion opportunities available on our Bangalore, India study abroad program.
(1) This photo was taken at the Gavi Gangadheswara Temple with the statue representation of the Trident – the symbol of Shiva – in the background.
(2) Another photo shot at the Bull Temple with the bull mount of Shiva, Nandi, in the background. Said to be the “gate keeper” of Shiva and Parvati.
(3) And, last, we have the same temple field trip group posing with the astronomical symbol of Shiva.
