Do you have a knack for taking photos and videos? Want to enhance your portfolio or resume and get paid at the same time? Consider becoming a USAC Digital Documenter (Digi) in the field of photography and/or videography.
Your goal will be to provide a student’s perspective on study abroad through photos and/or videos. You’ll turn in some content for feedback during your study abroad, then share the rest about a month after returning home. You will be expected to turn in portions of projects during your time abroad for feedback and turn in final projects to USAC by a specified date (usually one month after you return abroad).
Here are examples of the types of projects we are looking for:
Photography
Photo Digis should take between 250 – 300 photos.
Photos are used on the USAC website, in print materials, and on social channels.
Past Digi Samples
Videography
Video Digis should create three to four videos.
Videos are published to the USAC YouTube channel, USAC website, and shared across social media channels.
Past Digi Samples
Our ideal Digi candidate is someone who is interested or studying in the following fields: photography, videography, journalism, communications, advertising, or marketing.
You’re also looking to capture unique moments with your classmates. You’re not afraid to ask people to pose for the perfect photo, interview someone for a video, or simply capture the perfect candid shot. If you’re a creative storyteller, have a keen eye for photos and video, are thoughtful, and want the whole world to see what it’s like to study abroad, then you could be a great fit!
Specific requirements for this opportunity:
Having a little extra cash is always good. You’re helping us, and we want to help you by paying for the quality photos and videos you’ll probably be taking anyway on your study abroad.
Blog
Write captivating blog posts about housing, academics, internships, volunteering, language partners, a specific activity, experience, or field trip, including photos and/or video. (USAC will pay an additional $50 per well-written blog.)
Articles are published on the USAC blog and shared across social channels, and may be featured on the website.
Social Media
Social savvy interns can contribute to USAC social media channels while abroad.
