Whether you’re living abroad during the holidays or are back home missing your host country, we know that delicious food will be a part of your celebrations. No matter where you are, why not add a little international flair into your holiday menu? One of the best ways to get in touch with a culture is to cook and eat traditional dishes, and the USAC cookbook makes it easy to try your hand at some of the most popular dishes from USAC program locations.
Shared by our very own Resident Directors, the recipes included in The Global Kitchen range from entrees and side dishes to dessert, so you’ll have enough for a full holiday feast. Additionally, the USAC cookbook contains recipes from 21 USAC Specialty Program locations around the world, giving you lots of options to choose from.
Start your meal off with rich and savory Arroz a Banda — or Paella — from Luis, the Resident Director for USAC Alicante. You can find his recipe on pg. 9. Or try Jum’s traditional Thai recipe for Khao Soy, a favorite of students studying abroad in Chiang Mai, for a little bit of spice. Jum’s recipe is on pg. 19. And when you’re ready for something sweet, make Panna Cotta, shared by Claudia, the cuisine instructor for USAC Torino, found on pg. 48.
The combinations are endless!
