6 Places You Should Study Abroad This Summer
USAC’s Brazil program is located in the beautiful city of Florianópolis.
Florianópolis is the capital of southern Brazil’s Santa Catarina state and is famous for its beaches.
When you study abroad in Brazil with USAC you attend one of South America’s top five universities, located super close to the city center. You’ll be surrounded by more than 40 beaches, rainforest, lakes and quiet fishing villages.
USAC students enjoy surfing, hiking, diving, sandboarding, sailing, and whale watching. You can even earn college credit for your surf class!
In addition, we fill your summer session with some awesome field trips and tours, including Santa Catarina Island, São Paulo, and Costa da Lagoa.
This program focuses on academic areas in which Brazil is a world leader: Cultural Studies, Global Economy, and Natural Resource Management.
Chengdu is one of the most ancient, culturally fascinating, and authentic places to study abroad in China.
The summer session in Chengdu will take you to a variety of places including the Panda Research Institute, Qiang Minority Village, Qingchen Mountain, Dujiangyan Irrigation System, and the Yellow Dragon River.
Academically, this program offers a high-quality educational experience with a focus on Chinese Language and International Relations.
If you’re interested in international business then Shanghai is the place for you.
Shanghai is now the hallmark of China’s booming economy. It is the perfect place for you to learn about the business environment of East Asia and study Chinese language.
Field trips in Shanghai include Xitang water village, Hangzhou, Beijing, Suzhou and Nanjing.
The summer Shanghai program offers two 5-week sessions that can be taken individually or back-to-back to form a 10-week session.
An intensive language approach allows you to complete one semester of university foreign language coursework in five weeks, or a year in ten weeks; you may also choose courses in International Business as well as Chinese culture.
If you do not wish to study Chinese intensively, you will take a 2-credit Introduction to Chinese Language course to assimilate more effectively into your living and learning environment.
Each is unique in their own way, but all three will have you living the “pura vida” life filled with beaches, hiking, beautiful nature, lush rain forests and smoking volcanoes.

San Ramón is truly the heart of Costa Rica where you will encounter friendly people, and a peaceful, relaxed lifestyle.
The San Ramón program is designed for science majors interested in learning more about health, ecology, and conservation biology in Costa Rica.
Head to Ghana to experience a study abroad program like no other.
The USAC program is located in Accra, the capital of Ghana and an economic, political, and social center rich with history and culture.
You can visit historical memorials and remarkable museums, including the Cape Coast Slave Castle; enjoy new-to-you tropical fruit at open-air markets; learn to surf at stunning beaches; and sweat it out in the African Music and Dance course.

The summer session will have you visiting a variety of places around Spain including Barcelona, La Albufera National Park, Peñíscola, Saint Joseph’s Caves and Chilches beach, and Hoces del Cabriel to name a few.
